In a couple of weeks I'm flying to the Bay Area for 2 nights. I'll need maybe a duffel bag to carry my very minimal stuff. But if I want to bring toothpaste and MASCARA, for cryin' out loud, I have to check my bag. What a royal pain in the butt. I would not even mind so much except it seems so stupid that I can bring knitting needles or a short-bladed knife or a safety razor which I could secretly disassemble to extract the blade. So many of the rules now just seem foolish and inconsistent.
Yeah, I can buy toothpaste down there but I'm very picky about mascara and finding "mine" would just be stupid. I suppose I can mail my stuff to the friend I'm visiting, then mail it back to myself.
I HATE checking my bags. Too impatient, and too worried they'll go astray. I'm sure retrieving them is even worse now since we're ALL checking our freakin' bags.
Had to vent.
