Since the last few posts were about animals then i thought it would just follow that we could all find out what pets we all have -maybe weird or wonderful ones?
The racoon story sounded great and it would be be really cool to see one in my back garden in england but i don't think that'll happen anytime soon! - mind you i did have to cross a hedgehog over the road last week!:lol

The 8 year old German Shepherd is named Thor

I have a fish, a betta. Keeping with my boyfriend's tradition of giving his betta fish names that go with the last name Betta (i.e. Darth Betta), my fish's name is Esca. He was originally supposed to be one of two (Ella Betta and Esca Betta), but we couldn't find a female.

Those are great!! :lol
I have two dogs, Daisy a standard wire haired dachshund and Hetty a Norfolk terrier. Hetty is most definately the boss even though she's the smallest - she thinks she's a rottweiler and is top dog. Also i have four cats, Poppy, Chloe, Sid and kelso.
Chloe is the anti Christ and although she looks beautiful ( a grey tabby ) she is a real Jekyll and hyde and lulls you into a false sense of security before she attacks. Kelso was named by my daughter after Ashton Kutchers character in that 70's show because he is very pretty but very dumb! ( not his fault! ) we got him from the vets as he had been run over and no-one claimed him:cry i think he has some brain injuries from that because he walks sideways a lot and jumps very rigid !!!
I would love to have more animals, maybe a horse, a cow and some chickens but we only have a regular garden ( yard ) so thats not likely - partner breathes a sigh of relief!!:eek :

2 cats.
One is named Bezoar (the medical term for hairball). We call her "Bea."
The other is named Boutros Boutros-Ghali (a friend named her after watching a certain Seinfeld episode). She has never gotten over it, and is on antidepressants. We call her "Boo-boo."

Lynda,
You should name the fish!
We have 1 old cat named Touchstone (like the movie company) and 2 possessed kittens named Midnite and Phoebe. We have a black Weimador (half lab/half weimeraner) named Jasmine and 2 turtles - Seabiscuit and Angela. We had a variety of goldfish and tiny tree frogs but the possessed kittens got hungry one day....

My kitty is Natasha, also known as Tasha, Tash, Good Girl, Bein' Sweet, Sweet Thing, Baby Girl, etc.
We had another cat, a stray that adopted us, and she went without a name for a long time. She refused to use the litterbox and one day husband threatened her, "If you keep messing the house, you're gonna end up in a burrito on Van Buren street." (You kinda have to know Phoenix to get the joke.)
From then on, we called her "Burrito." The name stuck until we realized she was pregnant, and then she got pregnant again while she was still nursing her kittens! We took her to the vet for a sad abortion and a fix, and her name morphed naturally into "Breeder." Sometimes "Breedie" or just "Breed." She lived a long time but finally passed away a couple of years ago. She did eventually make an uneasy alliance with the litterbox, but we'll forever be confounded about her distaste for it (she even tried to drag her kittens out of it when they tried to use it! -- maybe Beaugest can explain what the early unknown trauma might have been ...).
After she died, husband put together a simple photo/text memorial using her picture and a snippet of lyrics by Tom Waits:
"They all pretend they're orphans
And their memory's like a train
You can see it getting smaller as it pulls away
And the things you can't remember
Tell the things you can't forget
History puts a saint in every dream"
The best name I ever heard for a cat was Hunter S. Thomcat.

LOL Spiffy...
The only pet I have right now is my partner (and you think I'm joking...) but we're about to adopt a rescue Bichon Frise (you know, Snowy in Tintin... the cutest dogs with white rasta fur). There's one called Enzo at our favourite vinters (okay so I'm British...) who we talk to all the time (we get through quite a bit of wine these days...) As a result we have been thinking about getting one for a while and so now have just got to wait till the old lady from the rescue organisation comes round to check us out.
Will be called Wally if he's a he and Lottie if she's a she...
:pompoms :yippee :woohoo :banana :jump :wired :sunshine
Not that I'm in the least bit excited, of course...
