A friend just sent me this. I haven't had a chance to listen to the segment yet, but based on the text, it looks pretty interesting:

Flying to Georgia for a Burger and Fries (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5589309)

The airport they flew out of is just a couple hours south of Nashville (less than an hour if you're flying!).

Very interesting ... it just seems so funny that you pilot types look for reasons TO fly whilst the rest of us think of reasons NOT to fly. It still seems CRAZY to me to spend that much $$$ for the experience of getting somewhere!

I MIGHT fly for a GOURMET hamburger, but ... the best I've done so far is a $238 granola bar, and I had to bring it with me because there was NO food at the airport. In February I had a $98 valentine heart (the little kind) from a dish in the FBO's lounge.

Thanks for reminding me there are lunatics ... er ... passionate fliers everywhere.:)
