I thought about posting this here, but I didn't because I didn't know how anyone would take it.
My sister sent me this YouTube video, because she knows I have flight anxiety. Plus, I'm really stressed out with my move. It's called My Therapy Buddy. I was laughing all day at it. I guess my sense of humor is lame, since it's been giving me a good chuckle all day.
But you wouldn't believe it! They have a website for this doll. I'm thinking of getting one for kicks when I get to San Diego. I'm going to go to my sister's park and scare her with it.
Here is the video for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xMjk6X__9c
Here is the website where he sells it: http://www.mytherapybuddy.com/ebay/
Can you imagine bringing this on the plane with you?

I wonder if it would count as your carry-on item? lol. It does seem a bit strange, but then you could always use it for a pillow to get some rest on the flight!

And it could be an "ice-breaker" with your seat mate too...and you could share it with other nervous flyers. I think the concept has some possibilities, but the product needs some work. For starters, instead of a bland face and shape, why not make it look more like a little pilot? (You know, sort of like a "Ken doll"!) And get a bit more imaginative with the reassuring phrases. E.g. "With knowledge comes comfort", "Your pilot is highly trained, and cares about your comfort and safety", "Just relax and leave the flying to us", etc. It could be a big hit with kids....and adults carrying one could always say that they bought it for a child. A headphone outlet would be useful so the entire plane wouldn't need to hear it talking. ;)

I just happened to click on this video after viewing "Therapy Buddy"

Well, he's touched on a need....and another anxiety/ what-if scenario for nervous flyers. What if there's turbulence the entire flight, and I can't get up and use the bathroom, and have to go? And, for those planes without bathrooms....that Sean and Ken were mentioning...Beech 1900, I think? and of course, the Cessna 152 & 172's don't have bathrooms either.
This would certainly be a "memorable" solution:tongue:!

Well, this just points out the need for a whole "Buddy" line of dolls .... one for every stressful life situation!
How many of y'all have had the thought about Beanie Babies, "I WISH I HAD STARTED THAT, I'D BE A MILLIONAIRE NOW!!!
So then the "Buddies" could eventually be "collectible" because we'd just make a few of some of them, and discontinue others.
Yes! Hmmm ....
Childbirth Buddy
Job Interview Buddy
Dentist Visit Buddy ...
there's no end!!!:magic:

Mmmmm you mean like just buy the basic Therapy Buddy and dress it up? I guess "Everything is going to be all right" does cover most situations.
