Was the fighter plane the one that crashed here in CHS last April? It was in the marsh just down from my house! Pilots walked away unscathed. Plane got pretty muddy and was hauled away.

No, this was one that crashed in enemy territory in Iraq. I think it said an enemy truck was headed for them and was one mile away when the choppers rescued him.

NOTE- this site has some stuff that FOF people may not care for. If you think it would bother you to hear an emergency landing, stay away as there is some of that there.

Glad I asked. I'll pass on that one, too! :)

I'm glad you like it, Jeff! I know it's not for everyone, but I really enjoy it. I had missed the fighter one but just listened to it -- wow. (For anybody who's interested, it's from the first Gulf War, 1991.)

Here's a funny one from memory -- ATC asks a GA pilot if he's "immediate," which means, I think, can he move immediately from his place on the taxiway into the aircraft line or onto the runway. The transmission is a little garbled though and the GA pilot has a hard time understanding:

ATC: "Are you immediate?"
GA pilot: "Say again, sorry?"
ATC: "Are you immediate?"
GA pilot: "Did you ask if I'm an idiot?"

Anyways, lots of fun stuff there.
