Any Floridians?

My wife and I are moving to Fort Lauderdale :sunshine in mid-December. She's starting a clinical fellowship and I'm transferring with my company. With such short lead time, we're using a real estate broker to find us a rental house long-distance. (We live in New Mexico.) If anybody has any tips about the neighborhoods in the Fort Lauderdale area, I would really appreciate your insight. I trust this broker somewhat, but you never know. I trust you guys more!

Sean, I don't live there but just spent some time with a relative who does. He lives in Coral Springs. Nice neighborhood. Where he lives was reasonable sized houses, well taken care of, lots of young couples, friendly,etc. Hope this helps.

My girlfriend is from the Fort Lauderdale area and I live in Orlando. As a matteraof fact, we're going to FOrt Lauderdale tomorrow to visit her Dad. Ask away and I'll pass your quesions on to her.

Coral Springs is great! My uncle lived there many moons ago. I also love Pompano (about 15 min. north of Lauderdale)

Welcome to South Florida,

I don't live in Ft. Lauderdale, I live in Homestead about 50 miles south of there. I'm very close to the entrance to the Florida Keys. You will love it here, I've lived here for about 33 years now it's a gret place, I moved here in 1971 from NJ. I don't know the Ft. Lauderdale area much but if you have some questions about Miami, South Beach and local hang out let me know :-)
