What a lot of happy faces! I know you all are having a blast. Wish I were there. :)

Thanks for posting these - I like being able to match names with (smiling) faces.

How does the Extreme Scream (that's what it's called out here in Washington, anyway) compare to an airplane? I'm still scared to try that!

So I'm going to pretty much have to rely on everyone esle to provide pics... but I just have to say.... What a weekend!!!

It was such a pleasure meeting everyone. We had a great time at the Orlando Flight Fest!!!!

One of my personal highlights was riding "Soarin'" with the whole crew. For thos of you who don't know about it, Soarin is a flying ride. Basically it's a big IMAX type screen with movement, wind effects and smells.... It's incredibly beautiful. Though it may sound scary to some with FoF, it's actually a quite beautiful and peaceful ride... much like real flight itself when it comes down to it. The ride is based on scenery from California.

The funniest part was when we were all standing in line and the "Flight Attendant" guy who's giving the standard safety warnings says something to the effect of "If you have a fear of flying or of heights, you may want to bypass this attraction".... We all cracked up!!!!

Anyway, we spent the rest of the day doing various activities in EPCOT, and had a wonderful dinner at Spoodles.

It was a wonderful time. I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend, as I definitely had a great time playing host!

Just got home... and it was a great weekend!

It was cool to see everyone again, and to meet some folks I had not met yet.

AND... We actually got Lynda and Kelley to a Flightfest!

Yall know that Lynda and I go way back. She "made" me fly. I was talking with her on my cell phone when I was on the plane getting ready to go. I had walked off two flights previously. She said (In that great English tone) "SIT DOWN IN THAT SEAT AND DON'T GET UP"

Hugs Lynda!

Kelley girls are sweeties! Even though I did have to fight them for the candy!

And Scott was right... That Soarin ride was cool. It was way cool for me because I had been to lots of those places in California! Speaking of folks... guess what??? Mark is moving BACK to the land of Fruits and Nuts! Yep I start a new job December 1st in Pasadena!!!

Ok... On with the fest. EPCOT was a perfect place for a Flightfest... the atmosphere was great! Dinner was great!!! And the fireworks show was absolutely fabulous!

I will think of more stuff later... so I will let others add to this!

BTW... the flight home was as good as it can get. We had a great view of the gulf, and then of the Tennessee River before landing in Nashville.

P.S.

Scott deserves the big award for putting together a great fest. BTW Scott... The reward for doing a good fest is... that you have to do it again next year!

CONGRATS!!!!

Yes, we had a great time and we want to thank you again Scott for playing host!!! I have to mirror everything Scott said. It was a wonderful Saturday Flight Fest in Orlando...seeing members from previous flight fests and meeting members on their first flight fest.

Scott: "Soarin'"...Though it may sound scary to some with FoF, ... " YES, it was SCARY at first...  had to close my eyes at parts in the beginning...and start applying my FOF tools quick. Think of yourself hang gliding at about 2000 feet with your legs dangling below you, and the only thing between the bottom of your shoes and the ground is air. I was white-knuckling the seat handles... silly, huh!? Well, half way into the experience, I adjusted and enjoyed the rest. I would do it again in a heartbeat...with eyes open for all parts the next time! :) After the lights go dark, this is the first thing you see flying like a fast bird.........

Well I have to say that personally I had a BLAST finally meeting people that I have talked to for the past few MONTHS or YEARS in person. Scott did a MOST excellent job in the planning and tour guiding - kudos to Scooter Butt. Here are my highlights in a nutshell:

*My 7 year old was MOST enamored with Scott. She told me he was HOT and followed him around like a puppy. It was SO cute. I warned Stephanie (Scott's fiance') that a younger woman was making a move on her man.

*Scott decided he wasn't riding "Mission Space" with Mark because he didn't want to be puked on. :barf:

*StPeteMark was quite surprised that Soarin' was as intense a ride as it was but he did a GREAT job on it!! He and Susan enjoyed the wine tasting at EPCOT. Yum! :drunken:

*Lynda bought my kids a ton of candy! Good thing I didn't tell PassengerMark or he would have grabbed the bag and ran!

*Debbie closes her eyes in every picture UNLESS there is a fat pickle in it....

*Everyone at Flightfest was more wonderful in person then they are on the board. The day was over MUCH too soon.

Thanks everyone!
Kelley

Just want to add my Thanks to Scott for organising this event it was really good to meet everyone. I agree with Kelley everyone is so much nicer in real life than you can imagine.

I will post lots of photo's over the weekend when we get back to the UK.

Mark , I take it that you got the earlier flight back, gives you a few hours extra to unwind before work.

To then people who could not make it due to differing circumstances, we missed you, perhaps next time!
