Hi All,
I have replaced the old Orlando Flight Fest thread with a new, fresh thread for updates and planning related to the Orlando Flight Fest.
Here's the latest:
Our big dinner shindig will be at "Spoodles" Restaurant at Disney's Boardwalk Resort at 5:50 PM on Saturday, October 29th. (Directions to Resort to Follow)
I chose spoodles, because it is casual but not loud, and there is plenty to do at the Boardwalk after dinner, should we choose to continue the Flight Fest into the wee hours. (There's a MicroBrewery, the ESPN Club, and a dueling pianos bar, and plenty of room to walk around and just stroll if you would like)
Here's a link to the Home Page for Boardwalk. Be sure to take the Virtual Tour:

I tried to keep the time a bit on the early side for dinner, that way if anyone has spent the day in teh parks and wants to go back into EPCOT for the fireworks, they will have time to do so.
So, that's the latest. Of course, if you need any advice on anything else to do that day, please feel free to let me know and I will help in any way I can.
Anyone up for a "Park Day" on Saturday. I will go along and play Tour Guide and MC if anyone wants to spend a day at one of the parks. EPCOT is within EASY waslking distance of the Boardwalk, so that may be an option.
And, for any newbies who are reading this for teh first time and wondering what the heck a "Flight Fest" is, here are some answers to questions:
1. What the heck is a Flight Fest? A Flight Fest is an opportunity for any of us who care to participate to get together and meet face-to-face. We can swap stories and share experiences, related and unrelated to the fear of flying. I would like the Orlando Get-Tegether to be even more than that. What I would like to see if folks turning this into a mini-vacation. If you have kids, BY ALL MEANS BRING THEM and let them enjoy the parks!! If you don't, there will be plenty of "adult" activities as well.
2. Why Orlando? I don't think anyone would actually ask this, but I'll answer this question nonetheless. Orlando is the perfect location for all FoF'ers, young and old, to get together! There are Restaurants Galore, Disney, Universal, Sea World, and a host of other activities. There are a number of other Aviation-Related activities nearby as well. More on that later.
3. Why Scott? Well, I'm here in Orlando!! I also used to work for Disney... My Dad still does, and my Fiancee is a manager at Universal's Islands Of Adventure! So, I sort of consider myself an expert in all things Orlando, and I have the inside track!!
4. Can I Come Too? Absolutely!! We are here to help you with your FoF in any way we can. You do not have to be a "Senior Member" or "Moderator" or part of any special group to attend. This is a come one, come all event folks! We have made dinner reservations for a large party, and I'm sure we can expand that too if we have to.
SEE YOU THERE!!!!!!
