Just when I was feeling terribly fluffy and getting to the point where I didn't like myself so much in the mirror anymore, in steps the gym I used to go to with a former member sale.
For 15 bucks a month, I have full use of the gym once again. I have a little bit of extra money these days, and I really want to pay more toward my credit cards, but if I'm firm with myself and cut back on other things, I can afford $15 a month for the gym. Plus, pretty soon, the weather is going to be getting cold, and I need a way to work out during the winter. I've done a pretty good job at staying healthy with exercise, and I really want to keep it that way.
Hopefully, I'll have some weight loss to report in the coming months!

A very good investment, especially since directly benefits you and it's at a bargain price! For without good health, everything else becomes unimportant.
Some tips: treadmill on an empty stomach, but drink a couple of glasses of water first. Also, keep drinking water at regular intervals. If you haven't already, work up to a sweat and set your minimum time at 20 minutes...that is when the aerobic benefits start. My treadmill workouts are 1 hour with a 5 minute cool down...several times a week.
Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks for the tips. I typically do 20-40 minutes and then do some light weightlifting.
I've been to the gym twice this week (and went running once on my own, in my neighborhood), and I already feel different. It's all psychological, of course, but it's amazing how much you don't realize you've missed it.
Which is a huge shock to me, of course, because I used to hate to exercise. I still hate to exercise, but I now feel so much better for doing it. Sort of like taking NyQuil -- the stuff tastes like crap going down, but you're much better for it in the long run.

Since my trip to Phoenix, I've only walked a couple times. I'll get back going on tomorrow. My stress level has been WAY too high since coming back home, and I just didn't have the emotional energy it takes to get up and out there early in the morning. But things were better today, so I'll go for it tomorrow. I do enjoy my early morning walks, and now it's getting much cooler here (how 'bout where you are, Kelley?!). And yes, I do take my iPod with me--I'd hate to walk without it!
Good job to you, Kelley!!! You need to give me some weight tips for a girl stuck at home. I do have some hand weights, but haven't started any program with them. Not really sure what to do with them . . .
Have a great week!

Jean - Actually that was Erika that posted first on this thread (she is noflyingfan). :)
I am sitting here eating Candy Corn (my fall obsession) and my treadmill is across the room with my daughter's dress up clothes hung up on the rails.
Charleston is much cooler so we moved the Mama cat and the 2 new kitties back out to the Florida room today so they would have more room and lots more sunshine.
I wish we lived closer so we could walk together!

I have been curling weights lately. Just yesterday I did 53 reps with 7 beers:cheers: I suppose I would get better results if I were curling water to my mouth instead... I have 700 sq. ft. of river rock being delivered here tomorrow.. I am going to be hurting for not keeping in shape..
