Baby, it's cold outside! Well in Massachusetts it is.

But, thankfully, there are warmer places to go when your bones get chilled, so ---- How does sunny Phoenix sound?:sunshine

Anyone interested in meeting for a FlightFest-type-thing in February? I've got reservations to go out, and was thinking Saturday, February 5th could be the First FlightFest. Lots of you in the Cali region could just hop on over. And as it's Ray's home, maybe we could get him in on it.

Hey, watch this --- this could be the headline in the Arizona Republic ---

"First FlightFest held on February Fifth in Phoenix (Fenix?) at Five o'clock -- Fearful Flyers had Fun!"

Come play!!!:dancers

If you are going to do a Flight Fest then do a good one!!!!

Come over to England! Meet up in US and fly together, that way you can get rid of your hang ups about flying over the pond.:nod

Lynda --

You're too hard on me. I WILL - some day. Before my passport expires.

How 'bout this -- YOU fly to Boston/Providence, and then we'll fly together to Phoenix??! That's a good idea! I'll buy you a drink. Several, in fact!

Debbie,

I would have seriously considered that if all my leave entitlement for next year was not already booked.

I have Fuertaventura 8th January

Cyprus 13th April.

Zakinyhos 31st August.

That takes up my 5 weeks leave:( Perhaps next year,2006
I may be able to combine it with a US vacation.)

I should be able to make it. The flight there is a little more than one teppenyaki meal. I will know for sure after discussing it with my mistress.:hail

I noticed a direct flight from Bakersfield is 225.00 and a direct flight from Ontario is only 120.00.... So I shall drive to Ontario. Maybe fly with Mark? What kind of parking do they have their Mark? How much for long term?

I was thinking of leaving Friday and returning sunday...

What is there to do in phx besides get airlifted to good samaritan hospital?

Jeff,

Hey you can park at my office about 4 miles from ONT, we can take one car to the AP. In other words... parking is free!

Do it! It will be a blast!

Figured most of you should be out of your holidays-induced alcoholic stupor and able to comprehend the thread and make plans accordingly.

Ken - don't you wanna come?

Kelley: Come on out to ONT and fly with us! Now that would be a crew. You, Jeff, and I could pass out the snacks!

Ken: Man... just make it work out! Take some of those miles and cash in a free ticket! Delta flys to ONT, you can join the crew to PHX!!!

Its a go!!!!

I will be there for sure.

Mark, what airline are you flying to PHX?
Going to Phx will not only be a flying accomplishment for me, but it will be a personal one as well.... After what happened last year, I feel kinda jinxed when it comes to Phx...
'
Come on people!!! make plans to be in Phx on Feb 5th!!!!

Jeff!

Great! It's always so much fun to meet each other. I did a big Fest in Boston last May and met several people. These are great for breaking the ice.

There's a restaurant in Phoenix called Rustler's Roost, where a few of us met a couple of years ago. Great food, casual atmosphere with a bit of a Western flavor. I'm thinking of doing the same place. The waiters were dressed in cowboy garb, and we "girls" thought they looked pretty cute!

Pleeeeeeaaase, if anyone has any ideas, give 'em up!

Son of a... I have an opportunity to play 4 free rounds of golf in Phoenix that same weekend but I can't make it!:cuss Unfortunately, my work is very dependent on the tides and they are at their best that week. It is completely unavoidable. It would be great to fly again so soon (never thought I would say that).

I hope you all have a great time. Hope to meet you at the next one.

Deb, That sounds like a great spot... let's do it!

Leslie: Can you recommend any hotels in the area?

Jeff: NO DRIVING!!! That is cheating! ha ha I have to check something at work Tuesday, and then I will let you know what dates/times work so you can pick one. And yes, Ontario has a great bar! There is a Applebees in the SWA terminal!

This link will allow you to check out rustlers roost (it looks great!!) and it shows 10 hotels near there.

Jeff

Thanks for that. That one link can combine everything for everyone. Nicely done!

So, Mark, how 'bout if I try to get everyone's butts in gear by about two weeks before, in order to give them a head count? I think Leslie and Bruce also enjoyed it there. Les??

The food was great, and the view of Phoenix (at night) was just too pretty.

Depending on how many we end up with, I'll just call and ask if we should go "private" room, or just accept us as a good-sized group.

So, this is who we'd have so far: Mark, Jeff, Les (?), Bruce (?), my Nicholas and Dawn (you cheered her on - remember??), Bob and Kathy (guests who'll be visiting me then), Ray???? When mentioned to Ray a while back, he said he'd be ending a trip on Saturday, but may make dinner. Mark, mention it to him when you see him, okay?

Okay, Mark - do your Ring Leader thing (you need a smiley), and I'll do my Cheer Leader thing: :pompoms

We are going to have a blast!!! I'm gonna bring Andrea if thats ok!

Bruce and I will be there! Yeah, it is a fun place with a gorgeous view. It also has a cow outside.

I'm not familiar with hotels in that area, but the list Jeff provided looked good. The Pointe hotels are resorts and have a good reputation but they are probably pretty pricey.

Les - Great! Nick will be especially happy (you know he loves Bruce!)

Jeff - by all means, bring Andrea. Nicholas (my son) and "The Guests", Bob and Kathy certainly do NOT come under the heading of Fearful Flyers, but they certainly gain an understanding of how we tick!

The Pointe rooms are around 250 per night.. The others get as low as 75 a night.. The Hilton is awesome and comes with free tix to their own waterpark! My kids arent coming, so I wont go there.. maybe the Ramada...

I just spoke to my mom and she will keep the kids the whole weekend :) She said "they have a group online of people scared to fly?" hahaha
