Hi Barb,

I must apologize. I saw in your post to Linda that you asked about Chris and I assumed you meant me. I now realize there is another Chris from the UK....so sorry :o

Hopefully I will get everyones names straight one of these days!

Chris (from PA)

Hey Chris,

I was a little slow on the uptake meself :b , and didn't realize you had responded to my query about Chris L until Mark responded.

Oh, well...we're still just figuring it all out. The more Chrises the merrier, and I am especially glad to see you here! Have you been lurking all along?

I know you have a flight coming up, and I really understand how one can pick up rust, so to speak, after a several-months hiatus. Have you asked your therapist whether she might be able to give you a little nudge or something?

My solution to the "rust" issue when I started to fly again was to not let a week go by without getting on an airliner...for about three months! Of course, I blew right through my nice fat paycheck from UNC for that month of exotic language instruction, but it was oh, so worth it! I am really a big fan of practice flights and just flying for the heck of it in order to set the new paradigm solidly in place...it worked so very well for me!

So keep us posted on your flight, arrange for tracking, tell us what you are feeling and keep the faith, OK!

Barb :D

WillFly - I am about 40 miles west of Philly in the suburbs with lots of cows :p I grew up closer to the city but when I got married we moved further west since my husband works in Harrisburg. We are hoping to move back east soon...

Xiknal - I have been lurking all along. I have been reading posts on the other board since July and then came here!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I actually stopped seeing my therapist back in June after my successful flights b/c she thought I had succeeded and didn't need to go anymore. I felt good about that decision since I felt I had accompolished my goals. I am hoping I will remember everything I learned when I hit the airport on Sunday morning (kinda like riding a bike right :\ )....you never forget but you will fall off every now and again.

I would love to fly more frequently if I had the cash. I also believe that the more you do something the more comfortable you become with it.

Chris
