Normally I find it very hard to eat anything on the plane.

My next flight is 10 hours, far to long to go without food. I know I have done the flight lots of times in the past but normally we have split the flight, ie 7 hours in to one of the US hubs, a break then down to Orlando. I have managed to eat between flights.
Virgin Atlantic food is said to be really dreadful.

What do you take to eat on long journey's.

I too find it hard to eat the food on planes. I usually pack some goodies such as granola bars, nuts, peanut butter crackers, pretzels, etc.

Hope this helps!

For an interesting peek into the world of airline food, check out www.airlinemeals.net. It's a riot. People take pictures of the food they get and post by airline. Never fails to get a giggle out of me.

All the best,

Lynda,

When I came over to the UK in August, the food on VA as actually good!

But for snacks I usually carry some jerkey, crackers, cheese slices, you know... the healthy stuff! :eek

Not me. I'm all about the JUNK FOOD! Cookies, candy, chips, Pepsi. Bring it on!

Delta has pretty good food if you fly out of ATL. American just discontinued their "bistro bags" as of 9/1/04. Not much of a loss there. Many of the airport food locations have "to go" food for you to take with you. Just be careful not to bring anything onboard with a strong aroma. A guy on one of my flights had a pizza loaded with peppers and onions. GAG me!

A Native American tradition, jerky was made by sun-drying strips of meat until all the moisture was gone. The result is a bit like rawhide, but edible (good, actually). I assume that now it is made in drying ovens, and it can be treated beforehand by soaking in tamari sauce and other marinades.

hmmmmmmmm you mean steak and kidney pie lol, no thanks!!!!

Erin was quite disgusted that we ate Turkey and cranberry sandwiches!

The thought of battered fish with chips ( fries) also did not appeal.
