Just wanted to send a big thanks to those who tracked my flight to Miami on Sunday (9/19). I made it here safely and will post a trip report when I get back.

If anyone could track my flight home on Tuesday, it is posted on the tracking board with my departing flight. I am in the Eastern Daylight Time zone.

Thanks again :D

Thanks for checking in Chris, I knew you'd do great!

Enjoy the rest of your trip and remember to try and get some shoe shopping in, you earned it! ;)

I will most definitely get some shopping in after I am done work ;)

I certainly worked myself into a tizzy Saturday night and was completely exhausted by the time I got here yesterday. I think I did ok, but the anticipatory anxiety really got a hold of me.

HOw are you feeling about your trip?

Well, I have another couple weeks to work myself into a tizzy, lol, but I'm actually feeling pretty positive about it. Watching others like yourself fly and get to your destinations without incident is encouraging to me. (so thanks for going first! :D )

I can't remember, did you bring any meds for this trip or did you go 'au natural'?

I went au' natural but I had Dramamine with me in case I needed it. You mentioned Gravol but they don't sell it here in the States that I know of. Dramamine is for motion sickness which I usually don't get but I sometimes get nauseous so I had it on hand.

I may need some stronger medication though...:eek

Well poop, if we knew sooner I could have sent you some Gravol, I know people who swear by it to fly. They sell it on the shelf here but it actually has alcohol in it.. that may be why they don't distribute it in the US. We're a little more liberal about our booze up here in Canada :lol

Does the Dramamine help you?

Here's some more info on Gravol (http://www.carterhorner.com/prod/prod.phtml/p/6)

I see they have an alcohol-free version now :lol This stuff has been around for years, I remember my mother always ramming it down my throat when I had the flu :x

Hey, Chris!

It sounds like you really did pretty well on the plane, and didn't even need the Dramamine.

Hopefully your return flight will be even better, with little anticipatory anxiety. For many of us (it sure was for me), that ol' aa dragon is the very worst part!

Hey Chris, It was interesting to me when I was tracking to see the reason there was a delay was that your crew was taking it's mandatory rest.I wish someone would give me a mandatory rest. Great concept.Anyway, I never saw that posted anywhere before. As someone who likes more info. rather than less I thought that was good they posted it.
That anticipatory anxiety is tough, isn't it? Just try and keep in mind the concept of redirecting your anxiety rather than letting your thoughts run wild with the "what-ifs." One very, very simple technique is to literally yell STOP when your thoughts start racing and going in a direction that isn't comfortable. Then try to replace(or re-direct) those thoughts with some that are soothing, calming, humorous, read some thing on FOF, check in here, whatever works for you. It might only help a little for a little while but I figure every minute you're not anxious helps.
And when you're on the plane keep in mind all the folks here that are keeping an eye on you and rooting for you. Monica
