Looking to book our annual Florida holiday for next March.
I am stuck between 2 airlines at present
Virgin Premium Economy
First Choice ( air 2000) Star Premier
Virgin is 747 and Air 2000 767.
The air 2000 are new cabins with leather seating etc looks sort off comfortable.
They fly to Sanford rather than MCO
The Air 2000 works out about 350 cheaper for the two tickets.
What is your thoughts on the choice???

Lynda,
Sanford is about 40 minutes outside of WDW so you will have to pay a pretty penny for ground transportation - have you looked into that cost?

Good point with the extra transport cost. I would usualy go for the cheap flight but no point saving 350 to spend 400 on extra travel.

It will cost £ 50 from Orlando by Town Car and £100 from Sanford both round trips.

Mark,
We are still thinking of that in the Autumn, maybe October November if we can do it. 11 1/2 hrs is still a bit much for me healthwise, it takes me a few days to get over Orlando and then a few weeks when I get back.
That is one of the reasons we used to split the flight up by having the one stop. I can however just about cope with the 9 hrs direct now.
Hi Lynda, what about British Airways?
London Gatwick-Orlando MCO, Boeing 777

Hi Agne,
We live in Manchester, BA do not fly direct to MCO from there, If we went to Heathrow the Upgraded seats would be quite a lot more expensive than Virgin.
Thank for the response
Yes, in fact after posting I realized that you are from Manchester..sorry:rolleyes:
I am a little "fond of" this flight because I consider it as my first step. In dec I went to Orlando and it was my first long flight after many years grounded/short flights. I like the aircraft, B777, and I found very kind FA. Besides, I had a beautiful holiday and I love Orlando. I am sure you will have a great time !

Managed to get the price a bit lower on the Virgin flights so the difference was not quite so bad, Booked them for March 18th. fly back 1st April. ( whoops April fools day is that an omen?)

Hey Lynda,
We flew up to the SFO Flightfest on April 1st!
No problem. I just avoided ladders, did not allow any black cats to cross my path (They are hard to hit in your car!)***
And the guy sitting behind me got kind of mad because I kept throwing salt over my shoulder.. (Sorry Jeff!)
But... to the amazement of all... No problems. Simple flight!
*** DISCLAIMER: I have not ever, or will I hit a cat with my car, whether it is black or not.

Flying into Sanford sounds like a pain to me, but that's just my opinion...

Go with Virgin Lynda, they were great - nice plane too. We were in the cattle cart so PE will be even better. Can I come too?

And don't do the Virgin joke with the cabin crew. They didnt find it funny the first time, and after the 10,000th its getting old.:D
