Hey all! I'm in Bermuda and just wanted to give everyone a quick update on my flights. I noticed that several people were stymied by the results that the tracking software was giving them. Here's what happened in a nutshell...I'll post more when I get back...

We took off from ATL on time, but about 20 minutes into the flight, the captain announced an "electrical problem." and that we would have to return to ATL. We hauled ass back to ATL (I didn't know a 767 could bank that sharply). I was completely freaking out. I asked a FA what was going on and she said she wasn't sure and hadn't heard from the captain because "they were really busy up there." Well, many of you know that I had a bad feeling going into this flight, and, to be honest, I was convinced this was it. I was going down. I cried quietly in my seat and tried not to hyperventillate. We landed safely and I had to make the decision whether to continue the trip. I obviously did, but it was certainly an adventure. Anyway, more when I get home. For those of you that are able, please track my return flights on the 22nd and send some good thoughts my way.

All the best,

Ice

Ice, this goes back to the post where we talked about how things do happen but the important thing is we're around to talk about it afterwards...
I think it's great that you continued on. Looking forward to hearing about your trip.

Your crew definitely proved they could handle any problem and you demonstrated your faith in them to climb aboard another jet and blast off. You'll be light years ahead as a result.

Look forward to hearing about your trip when you return!

WOW!

Now you are my hero! Getting back on a plane after that.

But as others have shared, it just goes to prove that even when "something" does happen, everything is fine at the end of the day!

Thank you for sharing!

Ice,

That explains it!! I wondered if you had to go back! Then I thought maybe you posted the wrong landing time!!!

Hugs Ice!!! Enjoy Bermuda. HOORAY for you getting back on the plane after the first one had issues. Look at it this way - what are the chances of having problems on 2 planes in a row??

Thanks for the well wishes, all! Unforunately, I'm afraid with my travel luck the chances of something going wrong twice are higher than average!

Anyway, I'm trying to not get worked up about the return flight too far in advance, but it is certainly at the back of my mind every minute of every day. I wish I could tell you all that I was brave and chipper as I strapped in to take back off, but that would be a lie. I was a shaking, crying mess who second guessed myself the whole way and who probably took a crapload too much xanax to cope.

Anyway, just popping by to say howdy. I'll be back probably once more before I leave on Wednesday, so continue the good thoughts!

All the best,

Ice

Bless your heart. Xanax or not, it took an incredible amount of courage to get back on a plane and continue with your trip. Be very proud of yourself! (and if you can't do that just yet, we'll do it for you) :D

Enjoy the rest of your trip! :)

Anyway Ice, it's easy for us to do easy stuff. I know. I know. Very profound. But really,it took so much courage for you to get back on that plane. I'm sorry you were upset and uncomfortable. That non stop anxiety is just one of the worst feelings. But how could you not be proud that with this big knot of anxiety you got on the plane and went. You actively worked on overcoming your fear. If you could have done it with ease it wouldn't be your fear. To me it's so impressive to watch someone push past the anxiety and do something that makes them shake, cry and experience all those uncomfortable feelings. And you'll keep working on it and each time will be different and hopefully better and better .But you got on that plane and I think that's great.

Hey all! Well, I head off to the airport in a couple of hours, and so far am relatively calm. Well, ok, I'm not, but I'm trying. I have to get home...my sweet kitties are missing me. Plan to take a little more xanax than usual (although not as much as I did on the way here...I think I was in a coma after the 1.0 mg I took) and hopefully I'll make it through without incident. Please keep a good thought for me and those of you who can track me, I'd really welcome it.

All the best,

Ice
(who is feeling just a little bit :barf right now.)
