The only leave I have left is the 2 days so hence Friday to Sunday. Florida is taking up 15 days.

Busy trying to find a hotel at such short notice, then I better pack LOL

Though I don't have any suggestions on hotels..sorry. I only know the really expensive ones that clients from my office stay at..LOL. If you want one of them, I can surely give you one..
Milennium Broadway Hotel, but it's like $259.00 a night. :eek

OK..lets see, obviously there is the zoo in Central Park www.centralpark.org/find/wildlife.html; (http://www.centralpark.org/find/wildlife.html;) Natural History Museum www.amnh.org/; (http://www.amnh.org/;) Hayden Planetarium www.amnh.org/rose/haydenp...rium.html; (http://www.amnh.org/rose/haydenplanetarium.html;) Madame Tassuads Wax Museum (believe it or not, my office Christmas will be here..LOL) www.madame-tussauds.com/..... (http://www.madame-tussauds.com/.....)

There is also the Circle Line (takes you on a boat around Manhattan) www.circleline42.com/index.ihtml. (http://www.circleline42.com/index.ihtml.) Instilled in that website is also a boat called "The Beast Boat," its a fun speed boat ride, took my nephews on it.

The list of places to see can go on forever. If you want to go see the Statue of Liberty, it is now open to the public...but you can no longer go up to her crown. You can go up the base, then you can only look up and see the inside through glass. Oh, and of course, there is the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the New York Public Library.. Don't forget, there is also the Horse/Buggy rides, not sure where you pick them up though...and on and on it can go..LOL

Hope you stay in Manhattan is awesome...tell me all about it when you return.

Hey Lynda - what fantastic news! Congratulations. I'm sure you'll love NY - we went for John's 60th birthday. The one thing that we did that made the whole trip worthwhile for us was an evening cruise around Manhattan. It was just the most amazing experience. I would definitely recommend that above anything else, although it's all fantastic and just like being in a film set the whole time.

Can't wait to hear all about it. Will be thinking about you.

Glad the hotel seems good!!

It is 9 - 15 pm now and we need to be up at 4 am yuk!! Think I need to go to bed.

I do not think that I will be doing this again the stress has been really bad tonight, rushing around and packing etc

Seems we are flying on 777 which is great.
Flight leaves Manchester at 10 am but there is a four hour check in!

We are taking a small laptop with us so I will let you know how the flight was.

Janet,

We will arrive in Newark at 12.30 EST Friday I am unsure how long it will take us to get to the hotel. It is now 4.45 am in the UK and we will be leaving for airport in 45 minutes.

Flight home is Sunday at 8 pm.

Lynda - sorry I missed you before you left for the airport. I'm sure you'll have a great trip. The Waldorf is in a wonderful position and you'll love it. The trees in Central Park must look beautiful at this time of year.

It's 8.30 am Friday morning and it's a beautiful day for flying. You should get some great views.

How exciting!!! Have a great time!! After reading your spur of the moment trip plans, I started looking for flights from LAX to NYC... Ive never been there and would love a 2-3 day vacation in the next few weeks.. The Waldorf... 800 hundred per night at least? Looks like an awesome hotel from their website.

Enjoy!!!!!
