Hi Royd,

You said to remind you nearer the time for info on what flying conditions we may meet MAN to Paphos. Just one week to go now flying 10.20 13th April.

Am I too soon?

OK I have got a significant weather chart as I figure that is the only part you are interested in. As of 1100 GMT the chart valid for 1800 GMT for europe:

Clear for Manchester and for south England. France is also clear, North Italy (The Alps) is showing POSSIBLE turbulence. As youy are flying over to Cyprus I think you wont be low enough to feel it. The South of Italy (the heel of the boot) is showing an area of CB clouds which are the ones resposible for thunderstorms so possible lumps as you start your descent. If those clouds get too large your crew will just avoid them. Remember this is a forecast and not an actual refelection of what is out there. I will look again this evening and should have a chart for tommorow for you.

Thank you Royd

I am really greatful.

I will try to check in from a connection at the airport this evening. Hopefully the thunderclouds will have moved by tommorow.:)

They may not be thunderclouds but they may be some vertical air movement, I will look again at about 1600 and post again.

OK midnight chart is out, South of England is now forcast light turbulance probably due to a front on the south coast you should climb above it quite quickly. France all clear. Italy Still over the alps but the front is moving. The CBs are labelled as Ocaisional and are moving to the East over Greece. Forcast for Paphos is fine with thin cloud patches. As before this is a forcast and none of this may happen. When the 0600 chart comes up I'll post it so you can pick it up at the airport if needs be.

I will check in tonight if I can find an internet station at MAN.

OK got it, the band over UK for 0600 GMT onwards has thinned, France still clear. Band over North Italy thinner. CBs over South Italy, Ocaisional and Greece and Cyprus in the clear. Should be a nice flight enjoy the holiday

Just in case you are flying tommorow the 0600 GMT chart, Italy clear. Alps turbulence below 18,000 feet well below your cruise. There is a jet stream running from Devon to Athens along the North of France. It is forcast at 29,000. You get nothing or you may get a slight ripple on the North coast of France just before the channel. UK clear.

Thank you so much for the forecasts, they made a lot of difference.

The forecasts were very accurate, we had hardly any ripples on either flights.

We did have strong head winds coming home that extended the flight time to 5.15 hrs.
We routed on the way home via Turkey , Bulgaria, Hungary, Austria, Germany. came in via Dover, London and to Manchester.
I took many pics on the way and will post them later.

My only anxiety was due to finding some clouds passing by the windows at 35,000 feet
