Hi Jess,

I've been on the 747 a number of times. It's a great plane. It is gigantic, but I really like big planes so that's a good thing to me. You want to be on a big plane on such a long flight anyway...more room to walk around.

Actually I find big planes more scary - the concept of it I think - like it's so big it shouldn't be able to get airborne or something. But Jess, I know they are safe, I'm just sharing my silly fears.

Now this is so FOFfy - after ALL you have been through this year, you're thinking the PLANE is too BIG?

Jess.

That's like me worrying, even though I got 95s in my stats class all semester, that I won't do well on the last homework assignment.

You can so totally do this. We'll all be watching!

The "Whale" is roomy, rides nice, and safe too. Boeing did a great job designing these airplanes. You will certainly notice the longer takeoff run, and as Sean mentioned, the wings definitely have a lot of flexibility. They are supposed to. Don't let that worry you. As I've stated before, wings are supposed to be flexible in order to support the entire weight of the aircraft, payload, and fuel while flying through turbulence. They're not unlike shock absorbers in the air. Besides, think about your own body--joints and muscles, what would you rather be? Stiff and immobile or flexible and agile?

Hey! Did you all notice that I put 'when' I get back and not 'if' I get back. Progress! :hyped:

Hey Jes!

Big planes are GREAT - except for takeoff and landing you hardly feel like you are on an airplane at all! My friend flies the 747 for KLM (well he is now training for a Capt slot on the 737) and loves it.

I would LOVE to fly on a 747 - especially upstairs. STAIRS on the INSIDE of a plane! How cool is THAT???
