Someone else in another thread was having a similar problem. It turned out to be "bad cookies" and was solved by deleting the cookies for this site. Hope that helps.

Here is what Chelle suggested on the other thread...

I've had this problem on another board tonight, too.. corrupted cookie. Next time just go in through My Computer - C: - Documents & Settings - Username - Cookies and delete your ezboard cookie manually, then you can save all your other cookies.

Hi

Thanks for help, unfortunately that has not fixed it. I tried clearing out with Disc clean up, I then deleted the ezboard cookie and started again, no luck I am afraid, any more suggestions.

Did you try and clean your "cache" and "history"...go to internet options "general" and delete files and history and see if that works. Don't delete cookies, as all your cookies will thend delete.

Yes janet I did do that. I have now deleted all cookies and it is working again! Not sure what problems that will cause me but it is too late now!

Lynda, ack, sorry.. a bit slow on the uptake today...

If that happens again (and for anyone else having this problem)

To delete your ezboard cookie manually (so you don't lose all your others):

In Windows 2000 or XP:

- first close your browser (this is important or it more often than not won't work!)
- go to 'My Computer'
- C:
- Documents and Settings
- Your username (or 'Administrator', whatever you log into Windows with)
- Open the "Cookies" folder

Under the "Modified" column, click the "Modified" so that the arrow points down, that will sort the cookies by date last accessed (if you've never cleared your cookies you'll have hundreds in there so this makes it easier to find, it should be somewhere near the top)

- Find your username@ezboard (if you're administrator in Windows it will say administrator@ezboard)

- Right-click on that cookie and choose "Delete"

Then reboot your computer and try logging in again.

If you're using Internet Explorer:

1. Make sure you have the most recent version, for no other reason than IE is extremely vulnerable and you need to stay on top of the security patches. I personally recommend Mozilla Firefox.. but that's another topic :D

In IE:

Go to Tools -- Internet Options -- Settings

Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" , make sure that "Every Visit to the Page" is checked.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Chelle,

I will copy that advice and place it in a folder for information.

I toss ALL my cookies on a regular basis...

:barf

...in Windows XP, starting with right-clicking 'Start' and going into 'Explore'. From there, I get wicked. There aren't any that I can't easily restore--and the rest that I didn't ask for are just spies. :troll
