Hi Royd,

We are travelling to Cyprus with Thomas Cook airlines Mid April ( 767) We will be landing at Paphos.

I realise that you cannot with any accuracy predict flying weather so far ahead but from what you know of the route are we likely to experience much turbulence??
Is the airline ok?

The airline is fine Thomas cook is a merger of a few airlines, JMC Flying colours etc it was decided to brand them all as a recognisable to customers who would buy their holidays from Thomas cook. Climatology was never my strongest suit but I will talk to friends that fly there and give you a rough idea. Nearer the time remind me and I'll try to get more acurate information closer to your departure. Don't fret the turbulence just think of the sun.

My friend has got back to me:

"The enroute weather is fairly stable over Germany but can then become turbulent over the alps and through the former Yugoslavia ( whatever they call it now) . After that it's a smooth ride for a downwind left or the straight in."

Clsoer to the date remind me and I'll try to get a breifing pack for a more acurate look.

Hi Royd!!

Many thanks for your help ( and your friends) It always helps to know what to expect even if I don't like what I hear.

Any idea how long it takes to fly over the alps??? Have done it before but just cannot remember, I do know it is a very pretty view.
