I am sorry to report that I GAINED FOUR POUNDS this week. I have absolutely no idea how I did it -- I ate a little too much, but I'm talking an extra piece of bread at dinner and a cookie. I hate to think how much I would have gained had I eaten an ice cream cone or something!

Andrea started "Curves" a couple weeks ago.. She really likes it. She has tried different diets and the most successfully was Weight Watchers. But, like most dieters, it is very hard to stick with the program. We eat horribly... My week looks like this

Thursday- Tahoe Joe's/Prime Rib and a big mug of beer
Friday- Teppanyaki/Fillet Mignon,fried rice, etc..
Sat- Teppanyaki.. Mignon again, saa
Sun-BBQ Tri-tip steak
Mon.-delicious Lasagna/ had seconds
Today- leftover lasagna for lunch and going to Mountain Mikes Pizza tonight for pizza and beer.

How many calories is that? :rotflmao:

I seem to burn many of my calories playing poker. I'm 6'0 185 Lbs. and don't seem to gain much.. As Ive gotten older, the number has climbed, but not much. I know soon, I will start gaining and be in the cardiologists office:sigh:

Chelle, I think you hit the nail on the head with the water retention stuff. I did lose another half inch off of my hips, and I feel okay, I guess (just a little sad) so I'm not ready to swear off food altogether just yet.

I did reconfigure my plan, however. I wanted to lose like 20-25 lbs. altogether, but now I'm aiming for 15. Maybe 20, but 15 seems doable. If it's this hard for me to get to where I want to be, then I think I'm probably not as far off from my ideal weight as I thought I was. After all, as I lose fat, I'm gaining muscle. Plus, my real gauge is the inches. A few more weeks where I lose inches but gain weight and I'm going to toss the scale altogether. I don't care what I weigh, not really, just how I look and feel.

It could also be muscle gain. If she is losing fat and gaining muscle it can appear on the scale as gaining wait.

Good Luck Erika. :pompoms: :pompoms: I'm always on(NOT) on a diet !!!!

Chelle,
Andrea has been about 10 times this past few weeks. She has never had to wait. Less than 30 minutes every time.:) She never wants to go after a long day at work... Once she is done she feels great!

The four pounds must have been some sort of fluke (or water). It's gone now, and I'm back to where I was, and maybe a little ahead.

I'm so glad there are so many of you guys going through this same stuff right now. I dragged my butt to the gym today, knowing you guys are doing it too.

Woo hoo! Let's hear it for team spirit! Go us! :pompoms:

Have a great workout! :pompoms: (Do you notice we are using that icon a lot in this thread? I guess that's good, though, because lately I feel like this. :hamster:).

Chelle, I typically weigh myself in the morning, usually Tuesday morning, because I started my diet on a Tuesday and like to do it weekly. I always seem to lose the most weight, though, between Tuesday and Thursday. So I usually weigh myself on Thursday, too, just to get a boost of confidence.

I'm getting frustrated, though. I lost that water weight that I gained back, but now I'm back to where I was -- net loss, five pounds. I haven't lost any more weight for two weeks! And right now, I'm at 1_0. I hate that I let myself ever get to 1_0, so I'll feel much better when I see 1_9 in the next group down. If that makes sense. I hope it does, because you guys don't need to know how much I weigh. :shakehead

Monica, don't feel too bad about the Hershey bar...I dipped into the candy bucket at work today and ate two little mini peanut butter cups, a little mini Hershey bar and a little mini Crunch bar. But I stayed away from the donut holes someone brought to work, and I count that a victory.

Don't worry, Chelle. I got a pizza for dinner tonight to make up for your eating the fruit bowl.

If you're gaining muscle and losing fat, then throw your bathroom scale away and don't worry about "pounds." The muscle you gain will replace those "fat" pounds with "muscle" pounds... and those are good pounds. :tiphat:

I know, but I do need to lose weight, regardless. Just like 10 lbs. but...trust me, the number does need to go down a little.

It's just a gauge, that's all. I'm not taking the weight as seriously as I'm taking the inches, but I want to keep an eye on it.
